decided to appoint a leader, a "CAPTAIN OF TOWN",
in charge of recruiting and ordering
the men necessary for the defense of the City.

Their powers confirmed by all the Kings of France.
these CAPTAINS and their militias opposed each other,
for more than a century, to the many external attacks to ensure security.

But if, since, they stopped using
of their weapons to defend their city,

the Tropezians always kept them
to honor their Patron Saint.

Since that date, every Easter Monday,
the Municipal Council proceeds to the election
of CAPTAIN OF TOWN.

And every year, in mid-May, guided by their Captain de Ville, they celebrate the "BRAVADE".
with the costumes and weapons of yesteryear!

Communion of an entire population
  the feast of "BRAVADE" has continued to this day.

The next BRAVADE will be held May 16, 17 and 18th
